Fire Creek Grill

Good friends, highly talented musicians from eastern Iowa, played at Fire Creek. Big turnout. Their "contract" was not honored and they ended up with about 1/2 of what had been promised. I don't care how good their food is/isn't, I won't go back.

The food was OK, but they apparently ripped off the Wednesday entertainers. Even though they had one of the biggest turnouts they ever had on a Wednesday night, they wouldn't honor their original agreement with Joe & Vicky. I'll bet they screw their help, too!!!

The last four times I was there, service was very bad, NOT RECOMMENDED. I even had to go to the bar to get another round of drinks.

I'm totally confused. Did we all go to the same restaurant? I have eaten here about once a month since last fall, ordered something different each meal, and have brought several guests as well. We have always had excellent service, great food, and yes the atmosphere is wonderful. The portions of the food were perfect. The steamed vegetables, potato of the day, and the steak cuts all cooked to perfection. I also LOVED the Spinach Artichoke dip appetizer. I've never had a cold meal here, or incorrect order. If you wantt o complain about price, You should be eating at McDonalds or Legends down the street. Maybe that is better fit for your budget and taste. The only downside I can mention, I thought the restaurant was too cold, and I wanted to see more menu options.

Very disappointed! Overpriced for what they offer, and what they offer was nasty! There were 3 of us and we all ordered something different. The hot food was cold and full of greasy fat, and the cold food was limp and wilted. I will never go back.

Great atmosphere and average to great food..

I eat lunch there regularly on the weekend and always find the meal and service to be excellent. In the last three weeks I have enjoyed dinner there. I had the prime rib and then the ribs. The ribs are among the best I have had anywhere.

No Smoking and great martinis just kick it up a notch.

This place has fallen off the restaurant scene. Not only has the service been HORRIBLE my last 2 visits, but the food isnt nearly as good as it once was. Where has the management gone? It used to be the one of West Des Moines best. It's now just an over priced restaurant ran by a sports bar owner. How sad!

Downside: Thought the food was just ok. Service was slow. Meal mediocre and overpriced for the quality. Upside: Atmosphere nice. The highlight was the sweet potato fries.
Result: Wouldn't go back. Too many other good restaurants available.

I was completely surprised and delightfully happy after dining at Fire Creek Grill.

While entering, we were greeted promptly and pleased to hear the entire restaurant is smoke-free. The interior is so cozy and inviting, with fireplaces placed strategically throughout. We were lucky enough to sit right next to one, which enhanced the pleasant atmosphere.

Our waiter was by far the best waiter I have ever had. He was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. It was so refreshing to have such a wonderful, experienced server. Just absolutely perfect.

As for the food, it was so tasty and delicious. I was very impressed. We had the spinach and artichoke dip for an appetizer, a crisp, fresh side salad with the house Garlic dressing and Chicken ASIAGO dish with a nice lemon/wine sauce, fresh vegetables and the mashed potato of the day (Light cheddar)… they also have a very extensive and eclectic wine, martini and specialty drinks list.

It was a wonderful dinning experience and looking forward to my next visit.

I've been here twice - the first time was shortly after they opened. The atmosphere is great - but was disappointed with the service and the meal. But, they had just opened, so I thought I'd give them another shot. Over a year later, it was worse than the first time. The menus are printed on paper, mine was dirty (I hate that!). I went with four others, and we all commented on how difficult a decision it was - everything SOUNDED so good. But when all was said and done, we were all very disappointed. The service was sub-par also - our waitress had too many tables. But hey, the asmosphere is still nice... But that's not enough to bring me back.
