byYou either love or hate Mustard's. If you were in Des Moines back when Mustard's seemed like it was probably the only BBQ place in town, than you're probably used to the stuff. Now that the options for BBQ have multiplied, you can do better than Mustard's when it comes to the flavor of the meat, portion sizes for the money, etc. I'm a Mustard's BBQ sauce fiend, and I grew up on Mustard's food so I make it there regularly. The menu is pretty diverse too, if you're not wanting BBQ, you can order a pretty good thin crust pizza, or hamburgers, sausage sandwiches, etc. The cleaned up Windor Heights location doesn't offer the same real bbq restaurant appeal of the old dives that Mustard's used to have back in the old days.
