I love the Val Air Ballroom! This week will be the 4th time I've seen a concert there. I always look forward to going.

Val Air is one of my favoite places in the Des Moines area. They have almost all of the big heavy metal shows in the area. The place is too large for smaller shows but too small for arena shows.
There is an open floor and a seated area off to the side next to the bar
They have a box office so you can avoid wasting your money on Ticketmaster!

i think that the val air ballroom is a good place i myself have been there 2 times once for the Insane Clown Posse concert and again for the Ying Yang concert it was a blast i advise u to go there

This place is funny. It's a roller rink that has a stage on the side. For bigger shows, they build a bigger stage on the end. The bar is small and can be hard to get a drink. It's just not really a venue at all.
But, would I go again? Of course, because they seem to be the venue bringing in the acts I listen to.

$5 parking fee, black keys a.c. broke and they brought out only 2 floor fans (hot as hell), 13 degrees outside with an hour and a half wait for dropkick murphys..new owners, figure it the Eff out! Grr

For such a small venue, it takes far too long to get in. Leaving patrons standing in 15 degree temps for over an hour after the doors open is inexcusable.
