Awful really doesn't do justice to my experience. I mean, this place is impressively bad. The fries came out of oil that clearly hadn't been changed in six months. The rest of the food is right from the freezer to the microwave, save for the slimy and soggy "grilled" wings. But what's worse than the food is the service. Our waitress was hungover, rude, inattentive, and bitter.
Well, we were in there during a bugeater game last fall and a gross obnoxious NB fan(Larry the cablemans brother) kept hitting on me. I complained to the owner and was told it was my fault because I was wearing an Iowa teashirt that was too revealing. I will never enter that Big Red dump again.

Enjoy(ed) the food however just looked at my purchase receipt which was $9.52 and see they charged my bank account $14.00. Pretty sure I didn't leave a tip for almost half the bill.
This place is a haven for hard core Husker fans in the Des Moines area on Game day. Every screen in the place is tuned to the Nebraska game. Better get there early if you want a seat, cause its literally wall to wall by the time the game starts. GO BIG RED!!!!!
A decent sports bar in West Des Moines. Compared to others in town the Coop is kind of boring. I also was not a fan of the wings, they are really small. If I'm in the area I will go there but otherwise I would not make this a normal destination.
Smoky as can be and the food is pretty boring. Seriously, if you think reading this is boring, try eating the food at the Coop....now that's boring!!! Also the too cool for school, blond, bartender lady. Not as hot as she thinks she is.
It's a good place to grab a brew and watch some games. And w/ El Aguila (sp?) and Limey's right by, you can make a whole evening of hanging out in the grocery store shopping center!
Super place! Great food, nice variety of beers, lots of nice TVs, great service, one of the owners is there most of the time, fun crowd, best place in town to watch the Hawks or the Huskers! Not unusual to see a few tables full of softball teams, both kids & adults, even a private party room is available.
Great wings and staff.
Pros -
Lots of screens for the sports fan, family friendly, nice party room, nice tap beer selection (I have to say that because they have 2 Boulevard's on tap!), great food and the bar and wait staff are always top notch.

A Great place to relax, watch sports and eat Awesome food! A true sports bar and grill. They cater to all sports and are family friendly. The Coop is THE place to go watch Husker football.
Really the best wing in town. They do not deep fat fry them like everyone else, they throw them on the grill! Oh and the Grus are really good.
Wings are awesome!
Make sure you ask for the pub pickles.

The best place to get a steak! They know what medium rare means! And steak dinners for under 10 bucks on Monday night. Can't beat that
