Ladder 13

This place is a blast! One of the best in Des Moines.

my girlfriend and i went there hoping to find some fun dives on the west side since we are moving there. The bartender was about as unfriendly as we've ever run across and the place was kind of stuffy. We preferred sullies and westport. Sorry, the bartender can make it or break it and this woman must have been having some bad day.

We stopped in last Tuesday and had a great time. I have driven bye the sign many times and but had never been there. As far as little "hole in the wall" bars go it was great, I give it a 4. Cheap drinks and the people were friendly enough. The bartender was having fun which seems to spread throughout the place.

We love the place. Great local dive with fun people, great owners and awesome food from Angelo's, located upstairs available!

THE OWNERS OF THE BAR ARE THE FIRST TO NOTICE IF YOU ARE NEW TO THE BAR. THEY MAKE A POINT TO GET TO KNOW YOU. ITS A NEIGHBORHOOD BAR THAT WILL MAKE ANYONE FEEL AT HOME. THE STAFF IS VERY FRIENDLY. THE CROWD AGES RANGE FROM 21 TO 70 AND ABOVE. THEY MAKE EVERYONE FEEL AT HOME EVEN IF IT IS YOUR FIRST TIME THERE. BRUCE AND JOSLYN ARNOLD ARE THE OWNERS HE IS A WDSM FIREFIGHTER. THE BAR DECOR IS SET UP TO HONOR THE FIREFIGHTERS. IT WAS VERY NICE CLEAN AND HOSPITALITY WAS AT AN ALL TIME HIGH
