I literally eat here everyday for lunch. Where else can you go and split a big portion of chicken fajitas for $5 and drink .99 cent margaritas. Service is lightning fast. Food is always good. Never any complaints

Good quality, inexpensive lunch. Not a date restaurant. VERY similar, in regard to food, to El Rodeo just west of here. $0.99 lunch magaritas are good. $3.99 lunch specials w/chips and salsa.

La Hacienda on Douglas is an exceptional neighborhood restaurant. It has a decent menu with good portions. The white cheese stuff they use is very good. It's more like a diner than a restaurant. You probably won't take a date there but you'd definitely take your family or co-workers... often. They have friendly, efficient service - and the meals are done very fast. Lunch specials are better than any fast food thing. If you order carry-out, it's cheaper than McDonald's and 50 times better.

The place can get crowded, and the lot can get full. I've swapped to carry-out more often to avoid the crowds.

The bar has maybe 6 seats... it's not a big bar restaurant. If you need a beer or a margarita or maybe a shot - they'll fix you up, but beyond that - don't be too choosey or you'll be disappointed.

The vegetarian plates are pretty good. I'm not a veggie but I ordered a couple when my veggie whacko friends were in town and I drug them down there. It was like a pile of grilled, tasty veggies with sauce you usually get alongside a steak. I vow to have them again - this time WITH the steak.

The clientele is very diverse. Because of the low cost and relatively high quality of the food, you may see suits seated next to hippies seated next to a family of four seated next to a table of construction workers. It's not unusual to see a pair of cut-off jeans and a 3 piece suit during the same lunch.

I hope the place doesn't get too popular but I hope they get a lot of business and stick around. They have the product and the service to be a much bigger operation but then they would lose the neighborhood theme and be just another *insert chain place name here* operation.

It's definitely worth a try.

Fast, good food, excellent prices, variety of specialties and they do the staple foods (tacos, burritos) perfectly.
