Jesse's in Urbandale is under new management and is so much better. The cuts of meat are top class, new wine list and the chef is trying so new stuff. Give it another try and I'll bet you'll go back!

Went for lunch and it was not good. As others have noted, the cuts of meat at this restaurant are not up to par for a place that intends to be upscale. I had the petite filet and thought it was very mediocre. Top that off with poor service and dim lighting. Go to Legend's just up the road for a much better steak.

Felt like a sucker. For years I've heard about how great Jesse Ember's is, and thought it would be a good place for a classy meal. Setting is ok, service is too. Its just that the food was extremely mediocre. The steak was not good. It was tough and dry. I'd have been disappointed with this steak at Perkin's. Spend your money elsewhere.

The Waitress was good the food was way below any standards. The meat buyer for this place should be fired or send them to Fareway down the street.

I've been there a couple of times for business lunch meetings. Never had any complaints. Good service, food, and atmosphere. More of an upscale restaurant than I personally would visit on a regular lunch.

I was not too impressed with my first trip to Jesse's Embers. The atmosphere was average and the food was below average. We did have a friendly waitress. Maybe I'll give them another shot sometime, but I'm certainly not rushing back.

Had the prime rib special on a Friday nite. Oustanding! The garlic mashed potatoes were the right consistency and very tasty. Had the house dressing that I found to be very good and my friend thought the honey mustard was delicious too.
Great service too.
