byGood food in an unpretentious atmosphere - that’s how I would describe The Cookry. It appeared to me that many dishes are stew-based and are served with rice though there were some whole-fish options. I thought the food quality was good, the price was right and the portions were commensurate with the price. Of the dishes that my party tried, the blackeyed beans was the best, followed closely by the jollof rice. They make their own ginger drink, which is good and everybody should get just for the experience, but we actually preferred the caned mango juice (product of Thailand). The wait staff was helpful and pleasant. One last thing to note: the Cookry’s hot sauce is blistering. Use is judiciously.
I will most certainly put The Cookry in my restaurant rotation.
