Just noticed that the reviews for this restaurant are a bit old, so here is a more recent review.
The food here is still great, served quickly and efficently. The flavors here jump out at you. The Tom Ka Kai soup is outstanding and treats you to a little adventure of flavors in a bowl.
The stand-by dishes that we get here are the Pad Thai and the Garlic and Pepper Chicken. Both dishes are very flavorful, and very different. I have tried other dishes, and a lot of times I get the special from the dry-erase board near the entrance. All have been good. I can't think of anything I have had yet that has been subpar.
Be careful with the heat unless you know what you want. I have never had over 3 stars for the heat here, and that was pretty warm. Just fair warning.
The restaurant is a nice, tidy little place that defies the exterior (as many seem to be on this side of town) filled with friendly servers.
The menu is nice and has a lot of choices, but doesn't overwhelm with too many.
Over all, this is one of the better places in Des Moines for Thai food, if not the best.
This place rocks!!! The food is fantastic and the service at the restaurant is surprisingly good. Also, they deliver, and my house is a good distance away, which makes them even better in my book. Food is reasonably priced, great for a date or just for fun with friends and family. Thanks THai Flavors!!!!!
Wish I could give more than 5 stars! THE BEST Thai food I have ever had. As for ambiance ... you don't eat the surroundings. And with food this good, you're too engrossed in the food to give a hoot!
I'm so upset that I didn't find out about this place sooner. The food is amazing - definitely the best Thai I've had in the midwest so far! The restaurant itself could use a little fixing up as far as decor and general upkeep goes, but otherwise the place gets my 5-star seal of approval!
One of my favorite restaurants in Des Moines. Prices are reasonable and I haven't found a dish I didn't like. The location is close to downtown in a rundown looking strip mall on 14th Street. Service is generally excellent as well.
One of the best restaurants in town. As noted, not the best location, but I recommend just getting over it and having one of the best meals in town.
my boyfriend and i love thai food. we have tried out many thai restaurants - and this restaurant, by far, is the best thai food we've ever had! excellent food at awesome prices too!!!
I had dinner delivered to the Marriott West Des Moines where I was staying. The food was the best Thai I've had so far. I travel alot and eat Thai in every city. I had the drunken noodle, beef larb, mango with stick rice and the wonton soup.
Holy crap! This place blew me away! It is now up there with India Star as my favorite place in Des Moines. Probably not fancy enough to take your hot date, but hey- they deliver, too.
Thai Flavors and it's sister operation Cool Basil are head and shoulders above the competion. The flavors of the spicey food is extraordinary. I especially like the Pad Thai, the green curry, and even the red curry. Service is always efficient and friendly and the food is simply superb. The best value in the Des Moines area.

Best thai in town! If you can get past the location and aren't turned off by the strip mall. This is thee place for a fresh flavorful dish. I have never had a bad experience with this restaurant.
The food has always been wonderful -- very fresh. I've tried the ginger chicken, sweet and sour chicken (stirfried), and a special featuring eggplant. I have never been disappointed. Not the greatest location in town, but the prices are reasonable, the restaurant is clean, and the staff is very nice and attentive. I highly recommend this restaurant. Meals can also be prepared with "no spice" for children. My 7 year old loves the ginger chicken.
No complaints - ever. The food is very fresh and quite tasty. Try the larb, tom kha kai & seafood ka-phrao. Then again - try anything.
this place is delicious. it's in a crappy part of town, in a dirty strip mall, next to a walgreen's. to tell you the truth, i would never have dared to go there if i hadn't heard such good things. This place features cheap wine and very good, attentive, service. i have yet to try something there that I didn't really like. And they will deliver in the Des Moines area on a $15 minimum order!!
The Crab Rangoon here is amazing!!
The Garlic & Pepper with Chicken is excellent!
Panang w/Chicken...yummy!
Try the coconut juice. It is delicious!
The Tom Ka Gai is among the two best I've had
The food is so fresh! My regular is the veggie delight with tofu--five stars of hotness--and a thai iced tea. The Hawaiian fried rice is a winner too.
