Wife and I ate at The Tavern South on Army Post road last night. She had the Grinder and I had Meatball Sandwich. The Meatball was very dry and with no sauce at all. It has maybe 4 meatballs cut in half. The wife's Grinder was slightly better but she commented on it tasting bland.
We also had a regular order of Onion Rings. The price (7.95) was too much for the portion we received. The staff were pleasant and the service quick.
Overall the taste of the found was not what it was a couple of years ago. We most likely will not be going back.

My husband and I moved to southern MO last year and look forward to visiting the Tavern Pizza each time we go home to visit. My husband says the grinder pizza is the best pizza ever. I like the toasted ravioli.

If I could give it 0 stars, I would. Worst service at a restaurant EVER. Not only the South Side location. My top two worst restaurant customer service experiences ever are the Tavern South and the Tavern on 50th street. I just can't decide which one gets 1st and which one gets 2nd. I will not be allowing the Valley Junction restaurant take the 3rd spot.
