Not bad for a bar in Ankeny. It really has gone down hill since the end of the popcorn machine and the end of $5 all you can drink wednesday. The owner seems great, and he really tries hard despite being a cyclone fan. There aren't many places in the area where you can get a pint of guinness for under $3 so that makes it great. The pizza is wonderful.
I couldn't agree more! O'Malley's is the best bar in Ankeny. I'm just going to go ahead and agree with everything Sheri posted. Along with good stiff drinks for a good price, they have Pabst bottles chillin' in the cooler. Plus, it's handy having the owner live behind your house for those freak occasions where you need another keg!
Omalleys is great! It's a little out of the way but thats good that not alot of people know about it. The prices are as cheap as they get & the drinks are just as strong. The owner is awesome & the staff is friendly. It's a great place to watch sports. They don't have a kitchen but they don't care if you bring food in,(Caseys across the street). There's usually a potluck on the weekends as well. The crowd makes it just as interesting, the 20 somethings to the 70 somethings, yuppies to bikers. Its a great place to people watch.
Love this place. We're regulars and the owner and staff are awesome. Nice patio during the summer. Pool table, golden Tee, Bowling, and Cherry Bonus machines. Digital juke box. Big screen to watch the Hawkeyes on Saturdays. Great drinks. No bud products on tap but they do have them in bottles. Chips available and usually some type of hor de voires on weekends.
Don't talk about the cows! They get angry and bite!
