byThis place gets one star cause it looks authentic. This food is way overpriced for what you get, and what you get is nothing to brag about! Small flavorless portions! Don't waste your time!

We love this place. Here is a little hint....order the lunch plate that is served ALL DAY. They run from $6.79 to 6.99 and you can choose from pork or pork & beef....you get the same amount of food that is on their dinner selection for about 3 bucks less. Their pulled pork is very tender and flavorful, their coleslaw is awesome and so are their beans. And for a REAL TREAT...order the donut holes for dessert. Everyone we have taken there loves the food....way better than Papa Chubby's. The service is ALWAYS the best in town and everytime we have been their, a manager has come around and asked how everything was on top of the server. Super friendly place!
This place is as average as the reviews make it. After eating at bandanas I heard of papa chubby's in ankeny and which is now one of my favorite dining spots- all quality meats at reasonable prices.
Ps-cute waitresses too.
A friend of mine told me to try this place out, and I have to say that I'm a little let down. There was nothing really fantastic about the place, the Barbeque was ok. I really did like the bread that came free with the meal!! The prices were way to high for the quality of the food that you recieved! I may go back, but not anytime soon.
This place has okay BBQ. The brisket isn't worth trying, but the chicken is great.
Bandana’s has really good BBQ with a good selection of sauces. We tried everything and thought the smoke flavor was excellent, beans were especially good and the chicken was delicious. The Atmosphere was fairly good and the service crew was very friendly and attentive. The only draw backs were, I thought portion sizes could be more generous for the price and corn should have been fresher.
I visited Bandana's hoping to get good barbeque, but instead I found something else. The ribs were way overdone and their sandwiches were measley. I shall never return to Bandana's.
My family and I went here for lunch on a weekend. We found the menu options limited, but decent. The staff was prompt on service, for the most part, but the food that was delivered was severely lacking. I ordered a BBQ beef sandwich, and there was very little meat on it. My wife got the pulled pork, her sandwich had even less meat on it. This is not a restaurant we plan to ever visit again.
I cannot comment on the previous review, except to say I have had none of the meats he chose. My selection is the pulled pork plate and it is one of the best plates I have had at a BBQ restaurant. The pork is tender, but not wet. The garlic bread is amazing. I usually get take-out and was not impressed with the fries, but fries from anywhere usually aren't good when you get them home. I stick to the BBQ beans and potato salad. All in all, Bandanas is now one of my favorites and a weekly selection.
I was completely unimpressed. I got a triple combo with ribs, turkey, and brisket. I was told by our waitress that you get a half rack and when it showed up, I found that you only get three ribs. Mine had next to no meat on them and reminded me of beef jerky. The portions of brisket and turkey was appalling- especially for the price. Half of the brisket was fat/gristle that you could not eat. The turkey was good. The service was horrible- I sat without drink for 20 minutes and it took us over an hour from the time we sat down to the time our check came. I left hungry and broke- not on my “pick list”.
