The sports page was a little more of a family restaurant than I expected.
The bar area is not very bar-like at all, but there are plenty of TVs, the burgers were excellent, and the beers were big.
Duck tail (a woohoo!) is one of those bars that sorta feels like somebody's basement. They have dark wood paneled walls, 1 pool table, couches around a fireplace, etc.
There are 2 parts to appare, the hibachi and the sushi.
I'm not a huge hibachi fan, but I've been here twice for hibachi and it was great. I've been here plenty more times for sushi and have been c... (see full review)
Bogies is a small sports bar that sorta feels like a ski lodge. It has several TVs, pool tables, foosball, shuffle board, video games, giant jenga, money on the ceiling, etc.
Great location, nice decor, solid burgers, and good soup.
The (tasty) salad seemed a bit small for the price.
The lunch-only hours kinda make me sad, but it's probably smart given their menu, scen... (see full review)
As far as gyros go, these are the best I've had so far in Des Moines. They're not crazy oily like Ted's, and they're packed with meat. Can't wait to try the falafel and the hummus. The hours were c... (see full review)

I finally got to check it out last weekend and loved it. Some may disagree, but this is exactly what downtown Des Moines needed - a "club" not owned by Smithson.
I've been stopping into Drink for over 3 years now. At first I went all the time, but now it's more of a "It's my buddy's birthday, and it's Thursday" type of spot.
When I walked in for lunch today I was a little confused... I wanted to go up to the counter and put in my order. However this is a "sit down and get served" restaurant (aside from paying, which is d... (see full review)
I visited Ohana for the first time this weekend. The reviews here, along their impressive website had me pretty excited for the visit. In fact, they may have set my expectations too high.
This place used to be called Pizza Oven, which was opened by former Detroit Lion Dennis Gibson and a partner. However, Pizza Oven didn't quite make it, so the partnership closed.
I've only been to Wok in Motion once, but I will have to disagree with the comment saying that this is "best sushi in town." The rolls all seemed to have too much rice and not enough ingredients. Pl... (see full review)
I've also noticed that HuHot's fish is a little more "fishy" tasting than most places. Salmon shouldn't taste that way. Stay away from the fish, unless it's shellfish. The calamari, shrimp, and cra... (see full review)
