Well I must say, the menu had a nice selection, but the noodles tasted like they were made by Mama Fratelle from the Goonies. No care at all. As far as the environment, I've eaten at better hotel restauraunts, the ones that rent the room by the hour. Only take your in laws here or employees that your firing. More ketchup and less olive oil please.

I have been there a few times and never impressed w/ the food or the service for the price. The menu doesn't even detail what you are getting and I ordered the $50 lobster to get a lobster stuffed w/ "stuffing" it was horrible! I would not recommend this restaurant!

Great atmosphere. Place to see the who's, who's in Des Moines. I've always had good service and foods been good however I never feel like I get my money's worth. Bottomline: things are a bit overpriced.

I had heard mixed reviews about this restaurant, which in reality there should be nothing mixed about it. I would rather eat McDonalds than ever eat here again. The only thing Fratello’s had going for them was the atmosphere, it was graceful and elegant.

The service, I can not describe how awful it was. Seriously, the place was not busy…our table was 10 person (which if treated right would provide a nice tip). I guess at $15-30 a plate, I expect a little more! Our drinks were never filled, we had to hunt down the waiter to take our orders, the server was completely rude, to the point he was just mean.

The food, one word: Awful. My meal (along with others in the party) was served cold. Another member in our party got the entirely wrong dish and they refused to correct it or even take it off the bill. No one was happy with their dish. Nothing tasted spectacular; of course mine was ice-cold, so maybe if it was served even at room temperature I would have been more pleased. The server (as helpful as he was) didn’t offer any way to correct the situation.

And this is where I was pissed, the bill comes (with parties 8 and up a 20% tip is added, which is standard practice) but this waiter didn’t even deserve a tip. (I tip well and even when the service is even mildly bad I still give the 15%.) This clown deserved none of that, even speaking to the restaurant manager “nothing could be done”.

There are so many good restaurants in Des Moines now, that you should have no problem staying away from this place!
