Didn't even know this place existed....I have lived here for 5 years.....I was impressed by this restaurant/bar in Urbandale.
Most of my friends have eaten there for lunch, but it is more a bar/tavern type atmosphere at night. Also impressed by the wide variety on the menu. The food was above average for a so called bar and grill. The menu contained Appetizers, Pizza(to die for), Pasta, Steaks and Sandwiches. The pizza stood out the most...due to it is 1/2 priced during Happy Hour. You have to try the Buffalo Chicken Pizza or the Chicken Alfredo Pizza...they were great. I liked the casual laid back atmosphere at Murphy's. The service was above average and Jim the bartender was very attentive to our needs. I love the huge bar area, which was seperated from the dining area. Murphy's would be a great place to watch all your sportings events, they have 3 huge projector type screens for you to see. But the only thing we disliked, was the fact that there pool table was pushed up against the wall and not able to play, we were told that they were having Live Music that night and the table was moved for the band.
If you are looking for a bite to eat or just a place to hang out with friends, I would highly recommend this bar/restaurant in Urbandale.
