My partner and I did some barhopping over the weekend. At every place we stopped, we were told that we had to have a watermelon shot at the Greenwood before calling it a night. Joe was our bartender, very friendly and prompt. I don't remember much else because this was our final stop, but I do know that I liked it and we will be back.

Friendly atmosphere with good ol' fashion drinking. chips, watermelon shots, and smoke. A dive by the total definition. If you are looking to meet up with hot guys and ladies, this is not the place. If you want to drink with your buddies and have fun without having to yell, this is for you. Some of the features include, 1 pool table, 1 lotto machine, Golden Tee, and a couple other undisclosed games. There is an old fashioned juke box filled with old school music. Also you will find a 46 inch TV that does not work, but the other 2 - 13inch ones do. Bring your friends have a drink or six, unwind and enjoy all that Ingersoll Crawl has to offer.

Esquire

Congratulations, you've found one of Esquire's Best Bars in America. The jukebox is outstanding. And legend has it that the Greenwood opened the day Prohibition ended.

Greenwood lounge reminded me of a bar that you'd most likely see in a rural small town. Not really something you'd expect in a city. The place is a complete dive. The pool table is ratty, cues are bent, and there couldn't possibly be any more smoke. Despite that, everyone seemed cool, the drinks were good, and the bartender is great. You'll find people here of all ages and everyone is just looking to relax and have a good time.

There are various video games, an old jukebox, and several booths to sit at.

Greenwood also holds the trophy for the last couple years of the West Des Moines IM flag football league.
